Columbus Citizens Foundation Presents: The Art of Being Italian

Coat Drive

This past week the Columbus Citizens Foundation hosted a coat drive for St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters.  Initiated by the new President, Angelo Vivolo, Columbus Citizens Foundation Members and their guests were invited to a cocktail reception in exchange for donated, new or gently used and clean coats.

The coat drive was helped by proud Italian American and New Yorker of the Week, Mary Anne Fusco, real estate broker extraordinaire, who has been holding coat drives for St. Francis for over 13 years, collecting over 10,000 coats for the shelter in the last decade. Many corporate sponsors have helped made these fundraising events a success, including: Amtrak, Flywheel Sports, Nespresso, Teach For America, Consolidated Carpet, Knothe Apparel, Jones Jeanswear, Jones Lang LaSalle, Douglas Elliman, WithumSmith & Brown, PC, Normandy Realty, Plaza College, Avalanche Studios, The Pajama Program, and Con Edison. These companies donated a variety of goods, including toys, food, diapers, hats, coats, and clothing.

If you are interested in helping with the coat drive or other support efforts for St. Francis, please visit them at www.stfrancispantries.org.
