Columbus Citizens Foundation Presents: The Art of Being Italian

71st Annual Columbus Celebration a Huge Success

Posted in: Culture, Heritage, Scholarship, News | comments

We are pleased to announce that this year’s Columbus Celebration was another incredible success, in no small way thanks to the tremendous support of this year’s Grand Marshal, Honorees, and special entertainment at the Waldorf Astoria Gala. Grand Marshal Alberto Cribiore and Honorees Guy Chiarello and Aldo Verrelli gave moving speeches at the annual Gala, as did Humanitarian Award Recipients Lady Gaga and Cynthia Germanotta. Lady Gaga’s and Il Volo’s musical performances at the Gala helped draw in a crowd of over 1,220 people at the Waldorf Astoria, selling out the event.

None of this year’s incredible events could have happened without the volunteer Celebration Chairmen, Foundation staff, committee members, sponsors and donors to the events. These individuals generously gave so much to ensure the success of the many events of this year’s Celebration.

Thank you again to this year’s Celebration Chairmen: Louis A. Tallarini (Celebration), Lawrence E. Auriana (Italian Affairs), Alfred M. Catalanotto (Parade), Janice M. Galli Becker (Silent Auction), Frank G. Fusaro (Media), Anthony F. Giordano and Anthony M. Mallardi (Journal), Frank P. Marzano (Dinner), Michael F. Pedone (Marketing), and Domenick Schinco (Mass). And, as always, a special thank you to our Members and supporters, on whom we rely to help support this immense display of Italian-American pride and culture. The Celebration would not have been a success without you!
