Buona Pasqua!  We hope everyone had a happy Easter or is having a beautiful start to their spring.  Easter Dinner at the Townhouse was a huge success, with over 200 Members in attendance. This was the largest number of attendees in history.

This month, the Young Adults Auxiliary also held a fundraising event at the Townhouse. Their Food and Wine Pairing was a big success, and we congratulate them on their efforts.  These YAA events are organized by and for Scholarship alumni and the young adult children of Members and their guests, and it is no small feat. The raffles held at these events are known for being incredibly fun, and incredibly generous.  Thank you to the many donors and sponsors involved!

The YAA is a fine group of young Italian Americans, especially the former scholarship recipients who currently lead the group as its officers. The proceeds from their event go toward a Columbus Citizens Foundation Adopt-A-Scholar scholarship in their name.  If you’re interested in renting the Townhouse for your own special event, please contact General Manager and Executive Chef John Boden for information.

As a reminder, the deadline for filing an application for the $2,000 scholarship offered by the New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators is Friday, May 2. The scholarship will be awarded to four current and future college students from New York State, and is based on several factors including GPA and financial need. Scholarships will be awarded at the New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators' Annual Legislative Conference Day on June 9. Area students may request an application by calling Senator Carlucci’s office at 845-623-3627 or emailing him at

We’ll leave you this month with images of the traditional Italian Easter dishes served at the Foundation’s Easter dinner: stuffed shells pomodoro, cavatelli with broccoli rabe & sausage, roasted rack of lamb, filet mignon piemontese, osso buco with risotto Milanese, and filet of sole almondine. For dessert: Colomba di Pasqua and torta di grano. Delicious!
